What is a website score?
A website score is a single number out of 100 summarising how well a website performs against weighted checks. WinSiteClients scores each site across ten signals, weighted for the business's industry, and bands the result as Good 80–100, Needs improvement 50–79, or Poor 0–49.
The score exists to answer one question quickly: is this business worth an hour of my time? Everything else in the report is for after that decision has been made.
What the score is for
Sorting, not diagnosing.
A sortable column
One number per business, so a market can be ordered by opportunity instantly.
Industry-weighted
A restaurant and a law firm are not scored on the same priorities.
Banded, not just numeric
Good, needs improvement and poor, so the number means something at a glance.
What score makes a business worth approaching?
Broadly, below 60 with strong Google reviews. A weak site attached to a good reputation is the widest gap between what the business is and how it appears — which is both the easiest conversation and the most valuable fix.

How the score is used
As a filter before attention is spent.
- Filtering a market — open the low scores, skip the high ones
- Prioritising a team's work — sorted list, split by band
- Tracking improvement — re-score a client site after work is delivered
- Qualifying inbound — score a prospect who approached you
Questions
Is the score comparable between industries?
Within an industry, yes. Across industries the weightings differ, so a 60 for a restaurant and a 60 for a law firm mean different things.
Can a business dispute the score?
The breakdown is shown, so each contributing check is visible. It is a measurement rather than an opinion.
Does the score change over time?
Yes — re-running the audit reflects any changes made to the site.
Is the potential score real?
It is the score the site would reach if the identified issues were resolved.
Is this business worth an hour?
One number answers it. Score a market and see.
