What kind of WordPress theme does the export produce?
A purpose-built theme for the trade the lead belongs to, not a generic multipurpose theme. Two ship today — Builders and Home Survey — each with its own page structure, its own content model and its own wording. Activating one creates seven pages, assigns their templates and imports eight field groups automatically.
A multipurpose theme can become any site, which is another way of saying it is no site until somebody spends three days making it one. The exported themes go the other way: each is written for a single trade, so the sections a business in that trade needs already exist and the ones it does not are simply not there.
Why purpose-built beats multipurpose
The sections are the ones that trade actually needs.
No setup phase
Seven pages, their templates and eight field groups exist the moment you activate the theme.
Fields, not a canvas
Labelled inputs grouped by page. Nothing a client edits can break the layout.
Compiled CSS, no CDN
The stylesheet is built at package time rather than loaded from a third party — on sites sold on their audit score, a render-blocking CDN script undercuts the pitch.
Is there a page builder?
No, and that is the point. Content is edited through labelled fields grouped by the page they appear on, so a client changing their phone number cannot accidentally drag a section apart. The layout is in the theme; only the content is editable.
Pick the design
From the mockups the client already saw.
Export
Theme, fields plugin, importer, content.
Activate
Pages, templates and field groups are created for you.
Import the content
Their text and images land in the fields.
What ships today
One theme per trade, added as the verticals are built.
- Builders — projects, services, reviews — the structure a construction firm needs
- Home Survey — survey levels, sample reports, turnaround — a surveyor’s content model
- Both — seven pages, eight field groups, a starter blog and a working quote form
- More trades — added as each vertical’s theme and content model are written
Questions
Can I edit the theme afterwards?
Yes. It is an ordinary WordPress theme — templates, a stylesheet and a functions file. Edit it, add plugins, restyle it. Nothing is locked.
What happens if the client switches theme?
The content is stored as post meta through the fields plugin, so it survives the switch even though the layout will not. Switching back restores the site.
Are the field groups the same for every trade?
No — each theme carries its own. A surveyor's services are survey levels with turnaround times; a builder's are projects with galleries. The content model is part of what makes it purpose-built.
Does the blog come with anything in it?
Yes. Starter articles for the trade are created on activation, written to be rewritten — a blog reading "no posts yet" at handover makes the whole site look unfinished.
